This workshop is designed as the second sequence of courses in the disciplinary process. It entails the written, documentation phase of discipline up to but prior to dismissal.

This workshop is a part of the performance management training series. It embeds essential aspects toward improving employee performance or detailing areas for improvement based on effective written documentation.
PHASE I: HOW TO BEGIN
Communicating with Difficult People
This workshop is designed to assist organizations with how to identify, address and prevent difficult behaviors that may occur within an institution. Most important, how to work with employees with specific difficult behaviors will be addressed to lessen or eliminate ongoing issues that are negatively impacting staff and the efficiencies and effectiveness of the organization.
PHASE II: HOW TO PREVENT
Preventing Bullying and Hostile
Environment in the Workplace
This workshop is designed to assist organizations with how to recognize, address and when necessary investigate issues that are claimed as bullying and hostile work environment. It will also address how to appropriately discipline employees who engage in this behavior.
PHASE III: HOW TO RESOLVE
Strengthening Strategic Alignment
This workshop will address how organizations can develop a deeper understanding of purpose and focus that centers on the vision and mission. A hands-on approach will be utilized to demonstrate how to develop internal goals within departments as well as employee-based goals. These “take-aways” will provide long-lasting tools and strategies organizations can continue to use improve upon.
This workshop is designed to build a comprehensive approach in hiring a diverse workforce that can be sustained over time. It will utilize hands-on tools to assist employers with evaluation of recruitment efforts and if there is a return in investment.

Understanding the Medical Requests
for Proposal Process (RFP)
Every employer is charged with determining if the medical plans provided are cost effective and meeting the needs of employees. The challenge is knowing if, when and how to begin. An RFP is the first step in the process that can produce the results of how competitive or not the medical plans are for the employer. This workshop is designed to teach participants what an RFP entails and assist employers determine if they are prepared to conduct and RFP as well as the approach needed to embark on this path.
After an employer makes a decision regarding a medical plan, understanding what is being provided and if the plans are what is needed is another task. Reviewing the fine details of a plan can provide an employer insight into whether it is truly meeting the needs of the employees and if there are changes that can be made to provide cost-savings. This approach also involves how and what to negotiate using various models including shared costs, capitation and other aspects based on changes in the law such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This practical workshop will assist employers with varying approaches in navigating their best course of action in finding affordable and comprehensive benefits plan(s).
All employers are required to understand the American with Disabilities (ADA) Act as well as how to implement various procedures related to the Act. The failure to follow the requirements of the Act can lead to significant liability for employers. Along with substantial penalties, employers will still be required to apply the various ADA regulations including the basic understanding of when the employer has been put “on notice,” what it means to implement possible reasonable accommodations and how often show the employer engage in the interactive process. This workshop is designed to teach the essential components required to appropriately understand and appropriately address the ADA regulations and the interactive process.
Since the inception of health care reforms, namely, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers have been challenged with the implementation processes as well as what to expect over the course of each year. This workshop will assist employers understand what is changing over time and strategies for implementation. In addition, it will address how and what aspects require collective bargaining.
Building a Culture of Competency
This workshop is designed to build a comprehensive approach in hiring a diverse workforce that can be sustained over time. It will utilize hands-on tools to assist employers with evaluation of recruitment efforts and if there is a return in investment.
